Sophia Waterhouse has always been afraid of needles and vampires so there’s no way she wants anything to do with a modern day Count Dracula—even if he does come wrapped in the package of a huge Kindred warrior with blond hair and ice blue eyes. When their ship is forced down in the middle of a rugged mountain range Sophia and Sylvan are stranded. Running for their lives they have only each other to depend on. Will they give in to the intense attraction between them or will the evil hunting Sophia take its toll?
Sophia Waterhouse is a girl I can understand. Shy, insecure and terrified of needles. If she had come with a spider phobia I would have sworn this was a book about me!! I'm ashamed to say I liked this one better then her sister's story. Partially cause in the first book you see the growing tension between the two characters and while you are enjoying Olivia and Baird you are side rooting for Sophia and Sylvan. I was glad they were next. Sylvan was great too. I really felt for him as he had to battle not only the evil coming after them but his own inner demons. It was also good to see the second type of Kindred warrior and the differences between the the beast and the blood kindred. Evangeline continues to show her ability to get us emotionally attached to her characters and get us steamed up at the same time. I love it.
